The Endocrine System

In this two DVD set, Phyllis Light teaches about the endocrine system. She explains the function of all the major glands and how to maintain the health of the endocrine system. She also explains how to treat the glands when they are malfunctioning.

She covers the adrenal gland, hypothalamus, pituitary gland, thyroid gland, pineal gland, pancreas and parathyroid. Phyllis also details the role of some of the important hormones such as ACTH, growth hormone, cortisol, melatonin, DHEA and serotonin.

Some of the herbs covered include Queen Anne's lace, burdock, black walnut, blessed thistle, sage, partridgeberry, saw palmetto, American ginseng, and ashwaghanda.

This is Phyllis Light

A fourth generation herbalist and natural health educator, Phyllis Light has studied and worked with herbs, foods and other natural health techniques for over 25 years. Her studies in Southern and Appalachian Folk Medicine began in the deep woods of North Alabama with lessons from her grandmother and father, whose herbal and healing knowledge had its roots in their Creek/Cherokee heritage. Phyllis’ studies continued as an apprentice with the late Tommie Bass, a nationally renowned folk herbalist from Sand Rock, Alabama, as well as with other herbal Elders throughout the Appalachians and the Deep South.
